  • Creating internal control lists that reflect approved timekeepers listed on middleware systems

  • Reporting on timekeeper non compliance
  • Document new elite timekeeper compliance specifications

Budget Tracking

  • Developing custom templates that reflect client budgeting requirements
  • Develop reporting that tracks actual billing v budgeted amount
    Report on non-compliance

DESCRIPTION

Responsible for reviewing completed individual, partnership, corporate, S-corp and trust tax returns; assigning work to tax accountants, monitoring their progress and workload; preparing complex returns.


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Reviewing all tax returns for accuracy, working with tax accountant to correct errors.
  • Meeting with or call clients with questions concerning their information.
  • Possessing knowledge of tax regulations in order to answer clients’ questions.
  • Preparing complex tax returns.
  • Preparing amended returns of any variety and complexity.
  • Preparing personal tax projections through utilization of computer software.
  • Performing tax research projections requiring expertise.
  • Preparing annual tax accruals as may be required in preparing corporate tax returns.
  • Working with confidential client matters.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in tax, preferably in public accounting. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required. A CPA designation is preferred, but not required. Candidates should be prepared to meet challenging client requirements, provide value added services and should posses strong communication (both oral and written), interpersonal and analytical skills.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Oversee daily compliance/administration of multiple electronic & non-electronic client accounts. Ensure accounts meet guidelines and employee best practices and procedures. Including: matter management, internal and external data maintenance, financial analysis and reporting, communication and documentation of required administrative changes, and training for partners/support services.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines
  • Field inquires on client accounts
  • Coordinate a response with Firm Administrative Departments
  • Act as liaison between partnership and clients on transitions to e-Billing Middleware
  • Systems Prepare implementation schedules that define and detail complete e-billing transition for every client
  • Coordinate and implement of new policies/procedural changes through the partnership and support services, as well as, within internal financial system and clients external Middleware System
  • Implement/Document business solutions to contractual changes in client accounts
  • Analyze client financial accounts and report on account performance
  • Communicate/document changes in account statuses
  • Develop standardized reporting that provides detailed client and attorney information on an account’s status
  • Other work assignments as delegated

Requirements

Experience

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position performs high level accounting work, including functions associated with general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable and is responsible for performing duties that require excellent knowledge and application of accounting principles, specifically statutory accounting filings.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs investment/actuarial accounting-related functions (e.g., Schedule D, Schedule P for audits).
  • Reconciles general ledger cash/investment accounts on a daily basis. Prepares cash flow statements, journal entries, and account analysis to ensure accuracy of ledger and trial balance account amounts.
  • Processes, verifies, and releases wire transfers. Ensures money transfers take place according to request. Maintains relations with bank/investment managers as needed.
  • Provides external auditors with information and explanations concerning accounting controls and procedures.
  • Audits indemnity and loss adjusted expenses.
  • Prepares IRS Forms 1099 and 1120-PC.
  • Provides back-up support for other finance professionals.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

  • Ensures that statutory reconciliations are correct and completed in a timely manner.
  • Processes all investment activities within two weeks from month-end.
  • Provides external auditors with requested information within one week from date of receipt.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA degree in accounting, business or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years high level statutory accounting experience.
